Egypt: The Time of Pharaohs

May 18 – December 31, 2018, Royal BC Museum

Be among the first in North America to see this staggering exhibition’s priceless ancient artifacts, such as the coffin of Nakht, an exceptional bust of Hatshepsut and an ornate gold and garnet necklace from the Ptolemaic period.

A mesmerizing exhibition for all the Egyptologists among us! Featuring more than 300 original artifacts — some 4,500 years old — the show covers all aspects of ancient Egyptian life. The historical time period covers the time from the emergence of ancient Egyptian civilization along the Nile to the Ptolemaic and Roman eras.

2018 Victoria Day Parade

Monday, May 21 starting at 9:00 a.m.

Everybody loves a parade, so get yourself and the family up and at ‘em early. Come and celebrate Victoria Day at the 120th Island Farms Victoria Day Parade. Attracting well over 100,000 people, it showcases Canadian and American marching bands, community and commercial floats and cultural shows. Led by the Canadian Forces, this annual event proceeds along Mayfair Mall and continues along Douglas Street, with the finish at the intersection of Douglas and Humboldt Street. Victoria Drum Fest

May 26 – 27, 2018

On a lively musical note, here’s a unique event presented by Groove Studios to get your toes tapping and your hands clapping!

The ninth annual Victoria Drum Fest will be held on May 26th & 27th, 2018 at the Victoria Marriott Hotel.

Visit on Saturday to join in on Education Day. Featuring clinics, product demos, the Youth Drum Cover Contest and much more! On Sunday’s Performance Day take in the Drumeo Drum Solo Contest finals as well as performances by five world class drummers!
